INTRODUCTION
The skating is to interpret a piece of music skating on an ice rink and performing pirouettes, turns, jumps and stunts, these items are valued by judges scoring following a code that takes into account both the technical and athletic acting as artistic interpretation. Although recreational skating has been practiced for centuries, figure skating emerged in the nineteenth century and underwent several stylistic and technical developments to reach its present form.
The International Skating Union Ice governs the deportation. 1 and organizes international competitions in figure skating modalities individual, couple, ice dancing and synchronized skating. The skating is a winter sport, but is usually performed throughout the year. Skating competition requires good physical preparation and intensive training.
RULES
In general, ice rinks have their own rules, seeking the welfare of those who are in and out of it. Although these rules vary depending on location, there are some steps that can be considered universal and it is advisable to know why? Who practices ice skating knows that sport is individual enough time to be on track and that the practice may be unstructured. If we know and we consider these rules can ensure good use of our time on the track and avoid unnecessary inconvenience.
- COURTESY: be careful and respect the space of those around us is paramount. Regardless of the level of skating that they are on track to have, you should always be alert to avoid collisions that could result in a simple tap or a more dangerous wound.
- TESTED AND IN CLASS:when someone is testing a program with the music included, seek to free the road as these skaters have priority, and most important, they will expect a clear track so you do not pay attention to avoid collisions. It's the same if any skater who is taking a class with her coach.
- LUTZ CORNERS: by nature lutz jump is usually running on the corners of the track, if some skaters are practicing this leap, will know by the notable brands in the ice. Try to avoid traveling for a long time for these corners as this dive has a long preparation and has a "blind spot" just before the skater jumps (go back, concentrated on the edge of the cart).
- FIGURES DANGEROUS: when doves practice, arabesques or combined tops, note well the space used and that no one gets too close (for we will expose the blades up to others who may be injured) once they start exercising they will harder to notice that someone is approaching and stopping at some imminent collision.
- CARE WHEN COUPLES: If training partners while at the track, consider that they occupy more space and they take more speed of a skater only. When a survey conducted may not be aware of dodge and a clash between the three can have a very bad outcome.
- FALLS AND INJURY: If you fall, get up as quickly as possible. When they are thrown on the ice will be more difficult than another skater can see them and avoid them. Remember removing your hands from the blades, avoid blows to the head and relax the body at the time of stroke can help only with a bruise as a souvenir.
- NOT STAY UNEMPLOYED: not standing still on the track, in the middle of a class or rehearsal. If you fell right there, get up and leave or move along to the side, where nobody will have to avoid them, because if they do not, it will hurt.
EQUIPMENT THEY NEED, WHAT DO THEY WEAR?
Skates
The skates used to practice figure skating consist of a leather boot and a steel blade. The boot is high on the front and back, must be securely fastened especially the ankles. Blade, which is approximately 3 to 4 millimeters, has a very important and also curvature at its tip has an edge shaped saw, called toe pick, which is designed for use in jumps and turns, but should not be used for braking.
Clothing
Both men and women should wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows them to perform the movements smoothly. The men wear pants and women can wear pants or skirts, but skirts are more showy. When skating in pairs combining both wear their costumes, they are usually attractive colors and fabrics, and must be appropriate for the type of music you are going to dance.
The dress has to be elastic in all directions so that we have freedom of movement (nylons, lycra, etc..) Sweatpants, tights, bodysuit, leotard.
